Brian Brown Earns Podium During All Star Show at Knoxville

Inside Line Promotions - WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (July 30, 2019) - Brian Brown highlighted a three-race weekend with the Ollie's Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions with a podium finish at Knoxville Raceway.

July 26 - Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn. - Qualifying: 12; Heat race: 1 (1); Dash: 1 (1); Feature: 17 (1).
"We didn't qualify as well as we hoped, but the All Stars have a format that put us on the front row of a heat," Brown said. "We were able to win it and a dash. We led the first 12 laps of the feature. We got into traffic and didn't maneuver through there as well as we liked. I got impatient. I went into turn three and got into the infield berm. I had to pitch it sideways to keep from cleaning out another car and couldn't save it. It sucks for the team to give us a good enough car to win and for it to not play out."

July 27 - Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa - Qualifying: 1; Heat race: 2 (4); Dash: 2 (3); Feature: 3 (4).
"We were able to go out last and set quick time and then we went fourth to second in the heat and third to second in a dash," Brown said. "We got into second (in the main event) and were making good steam with Kerry (Madsen). Gio (Scelzi) came by and blew the stickers off both of us. He was in a league of his own. A couple of times I looked at the scoreboard to see if he broke and pulled in because I couldn't see him. He and Bernie (Stuebgen) deserved to win that. A top three isn't what we wanted, but we have to know we're not going to win them all."

July 28 - 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa - Qualifying: 10; Heat race: 5 (6); Feature: 15 (17).
"We just didn't qualify well," Brown said. "That's the biggest thing. You have to be fast off the trailer and we weren't. It bit us in the butt. At the end of the day no harm no foul. We'll focus on Knoxville."

UP NEXT - Thursday through Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, for the 29th annual My Place Hotels 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank and Sunday at Knoxville Raceway for the 8th annual Bell Helmets Capitani Classic presented by Great Southern Bank

"We're looking forward to the 360 piece," Brown said. "It's a different car than we've taken there and our engines are good with Charlie Garrett. I feel we'll be good enough to be in the hunt. You have to keep yourself in position all week long. Then the Capitani is one of the tougher events we go to all year with 70-plus cars. The format is tough. It's an awesome event honoring an awesome guy. We were lucky to win it a couple of years ago and we're hoping we can win another."

Brian Brown Earns Special World of Outlaws Win at Knoxville Raceway

Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 18, 2019) - Brian Brown captured his fifth career World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series victory last Friday at Knoxville Raceway, which hosted the Brownells Big Guns Bash.

It was his first Outlaws win at his home track, where he now has 48 career victories in the 410ci winged sprint car division.

June 14 - Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa - Qualifying: 2; Heat race: 1 (1); Dash: 3 (5); Feature: 1 (3).

"The goal was to go in there and have a solid night like we've had every night so far," Brown said. "We started off well going second quick in our group. We were able to win the heat. The dash draw wasn't the best in the world, but we were able to make some good out of that. I feel like that was a huge part of our night. On the start of the feature we got a really good start from third. I'm not sure we would have been able to do that from fourth or fifth. We got out there and got into a rhythm and made some decent moves in traffic to give us some breathing room.

"It was a pretty solid night. I'm proud of Chad, Nate and my dad. It was one of the bigger nights of my career and it was good for the fans. They deserve to have those special moments like the PA Posse fans get."

June 15 - Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa - Qualifying: 3; Heat race: 2 (2); Dash: 6 (7); Feature: 7 (6).

"Really the night started similar to Friday," Brown said. "In the dash draw there was a one, two and a seven left when I drew and I got the seven. That wasn't the best scenario, especially with all the rain they had during the night. We knew it'd be tough to pass. We were able to go from seventh to sixth in the dash. We took off in the feature and on the initial start I got right to third. I felt like we'd be in a good spot to hopefully contend for another win. That got called back and on the second start I just didn't get going as well. I made a little mistake and two cars got by me. It was tough to make up ground and we weren't as good as we needed to be to move up there. The conditions were a little tougher and I didn't run 25 perfect laps."

UP NEXT - Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, and Sunday at Dubuque Speedway in Dubuque, Iowa, with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series

“We're using every opportunity we have to get to Knoxville as being able to fine-tune things and work toward our ultimate goal," Brown said. "You can go there and try a few things here or there, and it's still a very good payday. And we're looking forward to Dubuque. I've watched some videos of it. It looks like a pretty good little track."

Brian Brown Highlights Weekend With Another Trip To Victory Lane at Knoxville

Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa  - Brian Brown continued his domination at Knoxville Raceway last Saturday by capping a two-race weekend with a visit to Victory Lane. It marked his 46 th career win in the 410ci winged sprint car division at the track.

May 3 - I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. - Heat race: 5 (5); Feature: 9 (16).

"We started off well," Brown said. "We were the quickest in hot laps. In the heat race I tried to make a move around a car in turns three and four and got real tight. Probably too much 410 racing and not enough 360 racing. I lost two spots, but was able to get back to fifth. That wasn't very good passing points so we started 16th in the feature. The race went non-stop. We passed everybody we came to, but in 25 laps of wide open and never lifting ninth was the best we could do."

May 4 - Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa - Qualifying: 2; Heat race: 1 (6); Feature: 1 (6).

"We went out and hit the bottom in both laps and qualified real well," Brown said. "That's exciting because late in the year you might have to do those things at some of the bigger races. In the heat we drove from sixth to win it, which was good. We got a decent start in the feature. They were racing two wide in front of us. Once we could get a clean lane we could make some passes. We got to third. Then we were able to sneak by Kerry (Madsen) and then sneak by Josh (Schneiderman) for the lead. We burnt a piston in our engine. There was a red with about eight laps to go. It was blowing up at that point. The car owner was saying pull in and the driver said no. The driver won that debate. We're lucky our engines have great power and are durable to hold together.

"Other than being one spot better in qualifying we couldn't ask for much more. For me driving-wise it's probably the best I've been able to go all over the track. I've always been able to run the top pretty well, but the bottom has been a hindrance. We've found some things with our car to make it more manageable down there. That's also a testament to the Dunkin's because you can't ask for a better track than that and to my guys for their hard work."

UP NEXT - Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa or Friday and Saturday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series

"We planned to go to Jackson on Friday, but they had too much rain and were forced to cancel," Brown said. "We'll look at all the options. We don't want to go all the way to Ohio and get rained out. Knoxville looks like it will have pretty good weather. We'll look at the weather Thursday and make a decision."

They provide the truck that we go up and down the road with. If there's no Housby we don't get to the track."

Brian Brown Works to Improve Short Track Program

Inside Line Promotions - ELDON, Mo. (April 30, 2019) - Brian Brown is making gains on improving his short track racing program.

"Our big track program is really, really good," he said. "We're struggling to find the balance of what feels good to me and the car speed on the smaller places. With the World of Outlaws if you don't get qualified you get yourself buried and you have to do the best you can to rebound from that. I feel like our half-mile program is as good as it's ever been, but our short track needs work. The good news it's April 30 and there's a lot of the season left."

April 26 - Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo. - Qualifying: 25; Heat race: 6 (7); B Main: 3 (5); Feature: 18 (23).

"We just unloaded slow," Brown said. "We thought we had a good game plan going in. We were better in the heat and were better in the B Main to get into the main event. We were good enough to pass a few cars in the A Main, but not good enough to make a charge forward. Overall, it's disappointing we didn't have a better run, but we believe we found what was going on. We had a little bit of an issue we didn't know we had. That's encouraging."

UP NEXT - Friday at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa

"We haven't been in the Lincoln/Omaha market in a while," Brown said. "I'm looking forward to getting back over there. It'll be great to get back there. We've been good at that track and they have a bonus going if you can win three races. The Kosiski's have a nice facility and the track is always in tip-top shape where you can race three or four lanes. And then we're excited to get back to Knoxville on Saturday."

Brian Brown Scores Special Season-Opening Win at Knoxville Raceway

Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa - Brian Brown captured the season-opening event at Knoxville Raceway for the second time in the last three years last Saturday. The triumph marked his 45 th career victory in the 410 sprint car division at the 'Sprint Car Capital of the World.'

April 20 - Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa - Qualifying: 1; Heat race: 2 (6); Feature: 1 (6).

"We were able to get quick time, which was great," Brown said. "In the feature I was able to get to third pretty quick. Then I got to second and chased Justin (Henderson) down. I was trying to figure out how to work the track and get by him. Once I took the lead I tried the best I could through traffic. You're always trying to look around to see where your car is better or worse. Even when I had the lead I'd leave my line to see if there was rubber. If you're not paying attention you can get beat that way. When the race goes non-stop like it did it makes it good for everybody. It wasn't my best performance, but overall it was a good night for us.

"One thing is we have a good core package when we get to Knoxville that will get us around there. It's our job just not to screw it up. We had a good practice night (on Friday) and worked some bugs out and tried some things that will help us down the road."

Here is a link to a highlight video of the main event: https://youtu.be/XkCBi9CjJ4M.

In memory of Barbara Lasoski -

"With how everything has played out as far as my family it was important to have a good run in honor of my grandma," Brown said. "I'm sure she'd be proud to have us run the way we did. Going there as a kid, until I could get in the pits a lot of my memories at Knoxville are sitting in the grandstands with her. People think it's of going to races with Danny (Lasoski) or when I've raced, but a lot of my memories are of being there with her. She's a big part of our family and will continue to be. It was good to get a win for her also."

SEASON STATS - 14 races, 1 win, 3 top fives, 5 top 10s, 5 top 15s, 8 top 20s

"You can't win two until you win one," Brown said. "Every night is important and you have to focus on the task at hand and what gives you the best opportunity to win. If you get worried about a week down the road you won't focus on the task at hand."

UP NEXT - Friday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa

“We've had some success in 360 action so we're coming up with a game plan on how we want to attack it at Lake Ozark Speedway," Brown said. "I think we've won there six or eight times (in 360 races). We have some FVP customers and employees coming so it's important to run well. After that we'll put together a plan for Saturday."

Brian Brown Produces Top-10 Finish During Final Weekend in California

Inside Line Promotions - PERRIS, Calif. (April 2, 2019) - Brian Brown highlighted last weekend's World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader in 'The Golden State' by earning his third top-10 result of the season.

March 29 - Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford, Calif . - Qualifying: 3; Heat race: 3 (1); Feature: 9 (11).

"We were strong in qualifying and decent in the heat race and in the feature. We fell to 20th at one point and came back to finish ninth. I got racing with Jason Sides and we started sliding each other back and forth for two or three laps. I got caught in the middle and got freight trained. We tried to be patient putting around the bottom and making sure we hit our marks. At the end of the race the majority of the guys were coming back to us and that's a good sign. Sometimes it pays to slow down and be patient and find a spot nobody else is running."

March 30 - Perris Auto Speedway in Perris, Calif . - Qualifying: 8; Heat race: 6 (3); Feature: 17 (17).

"We qualified well for the second straight night, but we weren't very good in the heat race. In the feature we were up to 14th and then it laid rubber. I tried to make something happen outside of the rubber and we ended up finishing 17th. That doesn't feel like let's jump for joy and have a party, but I feel like the weekend was a step in the right direction."

SEASON STATS - 11 races, 0 wins, 1 top five, 3 top 10s, 3 top 15s, 5 top 20s

"I feel like we're getting back on the right page. We qualified well both nights and we're on the right path to get consistent finishes."

UP NEXT - Friday at USA Raceway in Tucson, Ariz., for the Wildcat Shootout and Saturday at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz., for the Arizona Desert Shootout with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series

"We won the 2015 Outlaws show they had in Tucson so we're really looking forward to getting back there. Hopefully we go there and get qualified well like we have in the past and that will set us up for similar success.

"I think we still have the track record at Arizona Speedway and we earned a podium a couple of years ago so we've been good at both tracks. We're looking forward to finishing the western swing strong."

Brian Brown Wrapping Up World of Outlaws California Swing This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions - GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (March 28, 2019) - Brian Brown is returning to California this weekend for his final scheduled visit of the season.

Brown will compete with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series on Friday at Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford and on Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway in Perris during the SoCal Showdown.

"We're looking forward to ending the West Coast Swing strong," he said. "Unfortunately, we haven't been able to race at Keller Auto Speedway or Perris Auto Speedway much the past few years so hopefully we're quick out of the box and we can get off to a hot start in qualifying each night. That is what sets you up for a positive result."

Brown has three career starts at Keller Auto Speedway with the World of Outlaws, but only one since posting his career-best result of 13 th in 2014.

"They've changed the track a little bit since we've last been there so that should make us all have to learn on the fly," he said. "They've had some good weather out near Hanford this week so we're looking forward to getting back to the track."

Brown will make his fifth career visit to Perris Auto Speedway, where his eighth-place finish in 2014 was his career best. He has also raced there only once since that event.

"Perris is a little bit bigger track and is more similar to some of the places we race at in the Midwest and East Coast," he said. "Qualifying is as critical there as anywhere we go so it will be key to get the night started with a strong qualifying lap."

SEASON STATS -

Brian Brown Excited for World of Outlaws Events in Chico and Stockton

Inside Line Promotions - TULARE, Calif. (March 12, 2019) - One of the great things about motor sports is that a driver doesn't have to wait long for the next opportunity to compete.

Brian Brown will return to action this Friday at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., during the Silver Dollar Shootout presented by Reibes NAPA Auto Parts and Saturday at Stockton Dirt Track in Stockton, Calif., during the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown.

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader presents the next two opportunities following a frustrating outing last Saturday at Thunderbowl Raceway.

"It was a very tough night in Tulare," he said. "On the first lap in qualifying we went into turns three and four and hit a hole and almost turned over. It stalled the car and then we had to get back going again. On the second lap into turns three and four I took the wrong angle so that really kind of messed up our qualifying. When you do that it really puts you behind the eight ball and then it was misting rain and raining the rest of the night. We could never get back ahead so it was kind of the same story as Vegas. We're looking forward to putting those nights behind us and are ready to get to Chico on Friday."

Friday will mark the first time since 2015 for Brown to compete at Silver Dollar Speedway. He's spent the last few seasons racing at Stockton Dirt Track, where he set quick time during qualifying and won a heat race last year on the heels of a career-best feature finish of fourth in 2017.

"We're really looking forward to Stockton on Saturday," he said. "Obviously it's an FVP sponsored race that's important to us and we've been very good there the last couple of years so hopefully we can get qualified and put ourselves in a position to go for a feature win.

“It's been a real tough few nights for us, but the guys have had a good attitude and have worked very hard to make sure we unload a fast car in Chico and Stockton."

Brian Brown Excited for Upcoming California Challenge With World of Outlaws

Inside Line Promotions - LAS VEGAS (March 6, 2019) - Brian Brown is looking forward to spending the next few weeks in California as the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series is visiting 'The Golden State.'

“It's one big measuring stick every time you go out," he said. "You have to prove yourself all over again whether you're at Knoxville, Tulare or Port Royal. We didn't have the best week in Las Vegas, but when you get to Tulare they don't care what you did in Las Vegas. You have to go out and get qualified and that's the first part of a four-part deal. Then you have to run good in your heat, get in the dash and run good in the A Main. You have to take it one night at a time and focus on the task at hand."

Brown will compete this Friday and Saturday at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, where he captured a career-best run of seventh in 2016.

“We're looking forward to it," he said. "It's five degrees and snowy in Missouri. Any time you can get out and race it's good. It's an exciting track for the fans and the drivers."

Brown is coming off a World of Outlaws doubleheader at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas, which hosted the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown presented by Star Nursery last Wednesday and Thursday.

"We had around 150 FVP customers and employees there on Thursday so I got to spend some time with them," he said. "There were a lot of long-time customers so it was good to get to see them again."

Brown started on a strong note by qualifying fifth quickest in his group last Wednesday. He maneuvered from third to second place in a heat race to advance into the dash. A fifth-place run lined him up on the inside of the third row for the main event.

"I felt like we had good car speed," he said. "We took off in the feature and something didn't feel right. As every yellow came out I kept getting tighter and tighter. We had a right rear tire go all the way flat. Those things happen. That's just part of it. You can't control flat tires so you have to concentrate on things you can control."

The event wrapped up on Thursday. Brown timed in 13th quickest in his group. He finished sixth in a heat race to miss a lock-in position to the A Main by only one spot before running eighth in the Last Chance Showdown.

"We hot lapped pretty well," he said. "The qualifying piece is on me. Normally in that situation you'd get one good lap in and go for the home run lap on your second lap. I chose to run the bottom in turns three and four both laps and didn't do a good job of how I should run the track. Going 13th quick is not up to our standards. Usually in those situations you can try to dig yourselves out of the hole. The way the track was with the conditions, it was laying rubber in the heats and the B Main it was pretty lane dependent, we just couldn't dig ourselves out of the hole. You'll have nights like that."

QUICK RESULTS -

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT - Weld Wheels

Founded in a Kansas City garage in 1967, WELD was the result of a relentless pursuit of speed, durability and safety. Highly successful sprint car driver Greg Weld was unable to find the right combination of strength and performance in wheels that were being made so he decided to make his own.

Fifty years later, a lot has changed, but the values of WELD remain. Its production facility is less than a mile from Pappy Weld's Speed Shop where Greg's race cars were built and his passion for performance continues to fuel the company today. Innovation lives on in its industry leading products and relentless pursuit of speed and strength. For more information, visit http://www.WeldWheels.com.

"I think we have 160-plus wins and every single win I've had is with Weld Wheels," Brown said. "They are not only the lightest wheel, but the most durable. We switched to the black wheel this year and everybody seems to like the switch. Weld Wheels has been a long-term supporter and we appreciate them."

Brian Brown Eyeing World of Outlaws Win in Las Vegas During FVP Platinum Battery Showdown presented by Star Nursery

Inside Line Promotions - GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (Feb. 24, 2019) - Brian Brown is bound for the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown presented by Star Nursery, which is held at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas this Wednesday and Thursday.

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series doubleheader at the half-mile oval in Las Vegas is an event in which Brown has traditionally been a contender.

"FVP is a huge part of our program and whenever they put on these events with the Outlaws it's important for us to run good," he said. "Vegas is in our wheelhouse that we're usually in contention. Our track record is pretty good there and we have a car that is usually capable of winning so hopefully when we unload on Wednesday we'll be in the same position."

Brown has earned at least one top-six result at the track during six of the eight seasons he's competed in a World of Outlaws event there. He's recorded a runner-up result twice and placed in the top five during five of his last eight races at the oval.

"Our program and I excel on the half-mile tracks with the wide, sweeping corners; momentum tracks like Knoxville and places like that," he said. "Las Vegas can be wide and fast. It can also be technical on the bottom. You never know what you'll get there. That's what unique about our sport. You go there one year and it's wet and rough and you go the next year and it's smooth and dry. The other thing that helps our situations is our engines are so good. You have to qualify well and our Charlie Garrett engines really run and that sets us up for a good night."

Brown was on his way to his first career World of Outlaws triumph at the track during the opening night last year. He set quick time during qualifying before winning a heat race and the dash. Brown then led the first 10 laps of the A Main before his race car sustained a flat tire. He rallied from the back to a 14th-place effort before capping the event with a fourth-place finish the following night.

"Last year we were in a position to win or at least get a top-three finish and we had a flat tire," he said. "The next night we were contending for the lead in the dash and I put it in the fence. That was a self-inflicted wound. We've got decent results, but it hasn't been smooth sailing. I'm hoping to go there and have two solid nights with no complications. I feel like if we do that we should have an opportunity to challenge for a win or two."

These are the first two races of a six-week venture to the West for Brown, who has a dozen World of Outlaws races in Nevada, California and Arizona scheduled during that span.

“We're getting to go race when a lot of the guys in the Midwest are home watching on DIRTVision," he said. "I feel when we get back home in April we'll have an advantage. That's important. We need to set our goals for top fives every single night. If we can do that there will be opportunities for us to get top threes and possibly wins."

Brian Brown Caps DIRTcar Nationals With Fifth-Place Finish

Inside Line Promotions - BARBERVILLE, Fla. - Brian Brown posted the second-best result of his DIRTcar Nationals career last Saturday when he garnered a fifth-place finish.

It was a strong result to a solid week for Brown, who made the dash during three of the four rounds prior to the finale being rained out at Volusia Speedway Park.

The spectacle began last Wednesday with the first of two Ollie's Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions races. Brown qualified 11th quickest overall - the best in his group - before maneuvering from fourth to second place in a heat race. That earned a spot into a dash. Unfortunately, Brown was hit by debris during the race and he ended fifth.

"The first night I got caught with a clod or something in the dash," he said. "I saw something big coming through and I turned my head at the last minute. It blasted my shoulder and the side of my head. The impact caused a pretty good gash by my eye. I got very, very lucky. It could have been way worse. The helmet definitely did its job. In the feature I couldn't get it to quit bleeding. It was running in my eye. It was not the best circumstance."

The night closed with a 17th-place finish in the feature.

Thursday's race was one Brown ended early. After timing in 13th quickest in qualifying - second in his group - and finishing fourth in his heat race, Brown exited the feature midway through the race and he was credited with a 24th-place result.

"The next night we just weren't as good as we needed to be," he said. "We pulled off running 14th or 15th and just got back to the basics during the rest of the event."

The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series kicked off its season at the half-mile oval on Friday. Brown qualified seventh quickest before he placed second in a heat race to make the dash. A fourth-place run in the dash lined him up on the outside of the second row for the A Main.

"In the feature I made two or three mistakes," he said. "Every time I made a mistake I got passed. I can't do that."

Brown salvaged a seventh-place finish and he continued to improve on Saturday, timing in third quickest overall before winning a heat race. A runner-up result in the dash was followed by a fifth-place finish in the A Main, which was only one spot shy of his career-best result at the track.

"I felt like we were pretty good," he said. "Our car wasn't as good as it needed to be from the green flag on, but we managed a top five. It's a tough field. To get a top five with this group is a good result."

Sunday's event finale rained out.

"As an owner I'm pretty happy with how we ran in general," Brown said. "We were in contention and got some solid finishes. Our Garrett engines were solid all weekend long. That's a good sign going forward. We could easily be sitting at home watching. Running in the hunt with those guys and getting a top five, and getting Chad, Nate and my dad to work together will pay dividends. Our next event is an important one. I'm looking forward to it. FVP is a great partner of ours and will have customers and employees there both nights."

Brown will take the next couple of weekends off before resuming competition with the World of Outlaws Feb. 27-28 at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas in Las Vegas during the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown presented by Star Nursery.

Brian Brown Aiming for Strong Start to Season at DIRTcar Nationals

Inside Line Promotions - GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (Feb. 4, 2019) - The 2019 season is set to get underway this week for Brian Brown, who ventures to Florida for the DIRTcar Nationals.

Brown will invade Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville for five straight nights of competition on the half-mile oval, which welcomes the Ollie's Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions on Wednesday and Thursday before World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series shows Friday through Sunday.

“It's a long drive for us, 16 or 17 hours," he said. "When you get there it's a pretty cool event. We've been good down there. All the pieces of the puzzle are the same this year with our Maxim chassis, Vortex wings, Factory Kahne shocks and Garrett engines so there shouldn't be a lot of guessing going on."

Brown was stout during qualifying last year, timing within the top three during all five nights and setting quick time once. He also made the dash during four of the five races.

"With our engine package we seem to qualify really, really well," he said. "That does set us up good all night long. Track position is critical everywhere, but it's more crucial in the heats at Volusia. We've been fortunate where we have qualified well. Volusia fits my style with the big half mile. We were onto some stuff last year when we set two track records at the end of last year so hopefully we can take that package and put it to use at Volusia."

Brown's best feature finish came during the finale last year when he ended seventh. His career-best result at the oval was a fourth-place run in 2017.

"We've changed a few things with our Maxim chassis to try to do some different things," he said. "One thing we're concentrating on is our feature finishes. When you go to the bank on Monday they don't care where you qualified. They want to know where you finished in the feature and how much you can deposit.

"Chad and Nate have been busting their butts all winter to make sure we're prepared. I feel like this is the best we've been prepared and we're looking to have some good runs. But what happens in Florida good or bad stays in Florida. With the sand and track conditions it doesn't really translate to any other places we go to around the country.

"We didn't lose any partners and were able to pick up SPLASH, FVP Stay Tuned, J.D. Welding & Machine, The Walldinger Corporation and Restless Distillery. As an owner you want to build on your program and the way to do that is to keep adding partners and we're excited to do that in 2019."

Brian Brown Garners Eight Wins and 20 Podiums During 2018 Campaign

Inside Line Promotions - GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (Nov. 13, 2018) - Brian Brown produced a strong season in 2018, winning eight races to go with 28 top fives and 38 top 10s.

Statistically, Brown had his best season ever at the famed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, where he won seven of the 410ci winged sprint car features - including four in a row at one point. He also added a 360ci winged sprint car triumph at the half-mile oval.

"We didn't race for points at Knoxville this year so it was great to be so strong there almost every time out," he said. "We've won a lot of races at Knoxville throughout the years, but this year we felt like no matter what we had a consistent opportunity to win every time we showed up. Chad and the guys gave me a great car and it showed almost every race at Knoxville."

This year also marked the ninth consecutive season with at least seven triumphs for Brown, who added five runner-up results and seven third-place finishes to close the season with 20 podiums, giving him a podium in nearly one third of his starts. He also set quick time during qualifying 12 different times, including setting a new track record at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., and at Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Ind.

"Consistency is key in racing," he said. "If you can consistently put yourself in the top three and top five the wins will come. We had some really good results this year in races we didn't win. Of course you can look back and nitpick all the races you could have won and didn't, but that's what makes this sport so tough."

Brown earned six top fives during World of Outlaws action, including a season-best third-place finish at the AGCO Jackson Nationals hosted by Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn. He also posted a runner-up result during the Hard Knox Night at the Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway.

"The way our team rebounded from a terrible preliminary night during the Knoxville Nationals to battle for the Hard Knox Night victory shows how hard this team works," he said. "We put so much focus and energy on the Knoxville Nationals. Just about anything that could go wrong went wrong during our preliminary night. However, everyone kept their head down and kept working and it showed during Hard Knox Night when we were able to earn a second-place finish to lock into the Knoxville Nationals A Main.

“That's one of the biggest things I'll take from this year. We had some wins and great results, but the hustle and hard work from the team is something I'm very proud of. Also, our great partners who have supported us night in and night out are very valuable. I want to thank them as well as my family and crew. We're all determined to make 2019 our best season ever."

Brown noted that all of the team's partners are returning in 2019 and there are marketing opportunities available on the car for next season.

"We also want to thank Michael Williams for three great years as a crew member and we wish him good luck in the next chapter of his life and we welcome Nate Steinhaus to our team," he said.

Brian Brown Sets Port Royal Track Record Before Posting Top 10 During Tuscarora 50 Feature

Inside Line Promotions - PORT ROYAL, Pa. (Oct. 29, 2018) - Brian Brown set a new track record for the second time in the last five races before he scored a top-10 finish on Sunday during the Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway.

"Hats off to Port Royal and the World of Outlaws for even giving it a shot and running on Sunday," he said. "Most tracks would have cancelled on Thursday with the conditions they were dealt. We were glad they were able to have the race. It turned out to be an awesome day.

"We were quickest hot lapping. Going out as late as we did in qualifying, to get the track record was awesome. Our engines with Charlie Garrett and our cars with Maxim and our wings with Vortex and our shocks with FK and our Weld Wheels that get you around the track, the driver is just steering it on a fast track like that. They call it horsepower for a reason and we have the best engine builder in the country. The conditions were perfect. That (record) could stand a while."

However, Brown's quick time during qualifying lined him up fourth in a World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series heat race.

“We've been on the other side of the coin where we didn't try to get quick time and it bit us in the butt like at the Kings Royal this year," he said. "Our goal was to set quick time and that's what we did. It does make it a tougher format for you because you have to start fourth in the heat. We got to third and got a decent starting spot in the A Main."

Brown advanced a position to finish third in a heat race, which lined him up on the outside of the seventh row for the 50-lap main event.

"I had a pretty good car," he said. "I was up to as high as sixth with five laps to go. I got a little ancy and tried to drive harder and lost three spots. I was disappointed with that because I felt like we had a fifth or sixth-place car."

Brown's ninth-place result was his 38th top 10 of the season. He will wrap up the year this Thursday through Saturday at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., during the World of Outlaws World Finals with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

“We're looking to get to Charlotte, where we won our first Outlaws race," he said. "I think we've been in contention to win one of the nights every year we've been there. Hopefully we can get qualified well and have a strong performance. We want to set the tone for a good winter."

Brown has posted a podium during the event in four of the last six years, including a win in 2014, runner-up results in 2012 and 2013, and a third-place outing last season.

Inside Line Promotions - ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. (Oct. 11, 2018) - Brian Brown recorded a trio of top-10 finishes last weekend during the final stop of his month-long visit to Central Pennsylvania.

Brown opened the action on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., by advancing from fifth to third place during the Al Hamilton Tribute/Dirt Classic Qualifier that had been postponed by weather a couple of weeks ago. The third-place result was Brown's career-best finish at the famed half-mile oval.

"I felt pretty good during the first feature," he said. "We had a good starting spot, but I didn't do a good job of getting through turns one and two myself. I got tight and pushed up. I was ahead of Lance Dewease down the frontstretch. Lance got by on the inside and (Brian) Monteith went around the outside. That was a critical point. We settled in there and ran with those guys the rest of the way. Overall it was a good result."

Brown then won a heat race to start the night's full program. He lined up on the inside of the fourth row and battled just outside the top five for most of the feature before settling for a seventh-place finish.

"I think it's the first time we've won anything at Williams Grove," he said. "It's a very, very tough track. There was a one to 12 draw and we drew the seven to determine the feature starting lineup. We tried some stuff in the feature. We don't have a lot of laps there or time to tinker with things. We tried some things in that final feature and it actually made us a little worse. It was probably the worst I've felt there in the last month. Sometimes you have to do that to see if you can make it better. It just didn't work out."

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday at Lincoln Speedway, which hosted the Dirt Classic. Brown qualified eighth quickest overall. He finished where he started - second - during his first heat race before charging from seventh to third place in his second heat race. That ranked him fourth in overall points and lined him up on the outside of the second row for the A Main.

"We went out and were eighth quick and that was a little disappointing," he said. "We were pretty good in that second heat, going from seventh to third. Then we had some momentum going and now we're in the hunt to have a good run or possibly win. We started fourth in the feature and got to third. We're having an issue trying to get our car right once the track blows off. We're not as good as we need to be. That hurt us on Saturday and we lost a few spots. We're not happy starting fourth and running seventh, but overall it was a decent night."

Brown's seventh-place result was his best-ever finish at the track.

Brown will compete with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series this Saturday at Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Ind., during the Wabash Clash and Sunday at Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, during the Last Call for Them All.

Brian Brown Rebounds With Podium Result During LOS 360 Sprint Car Nationals Finale

Inside Line Promotions - ELDON, Mo. (Sept. 4, 2018) - Last weekend was a tale of two drastically different nights for Brian Brown, who raced in his home state.

Brown tackled the 9th annual LOS 360 Sprint Car Nationals at Lake Ozark Speedway, where the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com event began on Saturday with Brown placing fourth in a heat race, 10th in a qualifier and third in a B Main - only one position shy of transferring to the main event.

"We don't race the 360 really too often anymore," he said. "We started off on Saturday with a good draw, but we weren't that good. We didn't get going in the heat and ended fourth. With the passing points system you have to produce and by us not doing that it put us toward the back of a qualifier. I tried to get going in the qualifier and ran over my buddy Jonathan Cornell. That was a driver error on my part and a missed opportunity. Then the B Main went non-stop and I couldn't catch the two guys in front of me. It was disappointing."

Brown returned to the oval on Sunday for the $10,000-to-win event finale, which he claimed in 2006. He opened the action by maneuvering from fifth to third place in a heat race before winning a qualifier from the third starting position. That lined Brown up on the outside of the fourth row for the 41-lap main event.

"We were up to sixth, back to 11th and then we got going on the bottom to finish on the podium," he said. "Overall the biggest thing is I'm proud that nobody got down and got discouraged. It's been a rough month for us. We haven't had too many smooth nights where nothing has bit us in the butt. Sunday was a good night where we could work on our car."

Brown's car came alive during the second half of the race. As many drivers focused on the top lane, Brown carefully picked his way through the field by using the bottom of the track to his advantage.

"I found a line that would work real good around the bottom," he said. "I got my car to work where nobody else was and was able to sneak by them."

Brown capped the night with a third-place finish, which marked his 24 th top five of the season.

The team is heading east this weekend with several marquee events on the horizon beginning this Friday and Saturday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., for the Tuscarora 50 with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.

"We really, really enjoyed ourselves last year," he said. "We're going to go night by night to see where we're at. Any time you can go in there and race with the Pennsylvania Posse and you throw the All Stars in it it's a tough field of cars. We're really proud to come out of there last year winning two races. Plus, our engine builder Charlie Garrett is out there. The fans are great. They don't like the Outlaws, but if you're an outsider and come on your own will they support you. We're really looking forward to racing out there."

Brown will have apparel at each event.

Brian Brown Pleased With Career-Best Season at Knoxville Raceway Despite Tough Finale

Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 29, 2018) - Brian Brown produced the best season of his career at Knoxville Raceway this year when he scored eight combined feature victories during 410ci and 360ci winged sprint car competition.

His seven 410 wins and lone 360 triumph marked his most trips to Victory Lane in a single season at the half-mile oval and he was on pace to net another victory last Saturday during its final sprint car race of the season.

After qualifying was scrapped because of a two-hour delay from a power problem, Brown won a heat race and garnered enough points to make the feature redraw. He lined up on the inside of the second row for the 25-lap main event.

"We didn't get a very good start on the initial start, but there was a caution," he said. "We regrouped and were able to get the lead and really cruise. It was one of the better cars I've had in a while. We were in a test and tune mode. We tried more things Saturday night than we have in the last three years. We gained on some things so hats off to Chad, my dad and Michael for their hard work."

Brown led the first 21 laps before the u-joint expired, ending his night prematurely with a 19th-place result.

"I figured that's probably what it was by the way it was vibrating," he said. "It's been a month full of vibrations between the tire vibrations at the Knoxville Nationals and this with the u-joint. I was running half throttle max trying to limp it home. We came up a few laps short. It was unfortunate that we had that good of a race car and was on our way to another win when it happened, but fortunately it didn't get my leg so it could have been a lot worse.

"We had a good year at Knoxville with seven wins and eight counting the 360 race. When we left in July we were leading the points. When we were there we were the car to beat. It's probably our best year at Knoxville overall. Congrats to fellow driver Casey's driver Austin McCarl on his championship."

Brown is scheduled to return to action this Saturday and Sunday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., during the 9th annual LOS 360 Sprint Car Nationals with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com.

"We won the Lake Ozark Nationals probably in 2006," he said. "We had an awesome battle with Jesse Hockett and were able to win that one. Last year we had a good battle with (Jonathan) Cornell and came up just a little short. We have some good notes and with any luck should be able to contend."

Brian Brown Overcomes Vibration to Make 10th Career Knoxville Nationals Main Event

Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (Aug. 15, 2018) - Brian Brown earned a spot into the famed Knoxville Nationals A Main for the ninth time in the last 10 years and the 10th time in his career, but it couldn't have been much more of a struggle to accomplish that feat last weekend at Knoxville Raceway.

Brown kicked off the 58th annual 5-Hour Energy Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey's General Stores last Thursday by qualifying 38th quickest after being one of the final drivers to hit the track.

"It started off with a not so great pill draw, but the track was still around there when we went out to qualify," he said. "Before that we went out to hot lap and had ran this car a month ago at Knoxville. We had a bad, bad vibration. We came in and changed all four tires. It was as bad or worse where we couldn't even see. We felt like at that point we might have had an engine issue. Being 38th quick wasn't normal for us either. We called it a night and knew we had the Hard Knox Night on Friday.

"The guys went to work and changed the engine, rear end, driveline, anything that could cause a vibration. We went out to hot lap on Friday and the vibration was still there. We changed the fuel pump, the fuel tank, anything we could try to find. We went out to qualify and it was still vibrating. At that point we were still scratching our head."

Brown opened Friday's Hard Knox Night by setting quick time in his group, but the vibration persisted.

"Someone recommended we look into the front tires again," he said. "We spun the tires and they were out of round. We had three sets of out of round tires in the same batch. It was very, very disappointing. It was something that was out of our control. We have to run the tires they give us and they were out of round. We'll just have to balance them and keep better track of them. Hoosier has been great. They came and got the tires, but that doesn't help the fact that it hurt our qualifying night."

Once the problem was remedied Brown quickly charged from fourth to win a heat race, which lined him up on the outside of the front row for the A Main.

"I think it showed that we had car speed," he said. "Even in the feature me and Logan (Schuchart) had a really good race going. It got to a point where I felt like I'd been running the tires pretty hard and I should calm down. You never want to settle for second, but second was just as good as first on that night."

Brown led part of the race before finishing in the runner-up position, which locked him into the 18th starting position for Saturday's 50-lap finale.

"Starting 18th we had to keep our car free to not be too tight in dirty air," he said. "We overcompensated and weren't any good. Then we looked down at the gauge (during a caution) and the engine was overheating so at that point there was no sense in continuing. We had enough stuff happen that weekend."

Brown pulled off the track early and was credited with a 25th -place finish.

"Our goal was to get ourselves in the top two or three rows come Saturday night and see what happens, but it didn't work out this year," he said. "As a car owner I couldn't be more proud if we won the race than to continue chasing down a problem and to not get negative. It's easy after the first wave of changing everything to throw the towel in. Not one of our guys did that. I'm proud of the whole team for not giving up and continuing working. I've never seen a group of guys change as much and work as hard in a two-hour period as they did on Friday. At the end of the day we did make the A Main at the Knoxville Nationals. The sun came up on Sunday and life goes on. That's the way we have to look at it."

Brown Entering Knoxville Nationals With Momentum and Confidence

Inside Line Promotions - OSKALOOSA, Iowa (Aug. 7, 2018) - Brian Brown has arrived at the biggest event circled on the calendar each season.

The 58th annual 5-Hour Energy Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey's General Stores is this Wednesday through Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, where Brown has earned eight feature victories this season - including seven in the 410ci winged sprint car division.

"Everything we do is geared toward putting ourselves in position to win the Knoxville Nationals," he said. "We've led laps and had a shot to win it in the past. We know we can win races at Knoxville and we can put ourselves in position to win the Knoxville Nationals. Now it's about putting everything together, being in the right position and capitalizing."

Brown has a trio of career-best runner-up result finishes during sprint car racing's Super Bowl and he's earned a spot into the prestigious A Main in eight of the last nine years.

Brown is coming off a successful weekend at the half-mile oval, where he posted a podium finish during both the 28th annual 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank finale on Saturday and the 7 th annual Weld Racing Capitani Classic presented by Great Southern Bank on Sunday.

He locked into Saturday's 360 Knoxville Nationals A Main by virtue of producing the most points during his preliminary night last Thursday. That ranked fourth overall out of more than 90 competitors and started him on the outside of the second row for the 25-lap A Main.

"We battled between second and fourth the whole race," he said. "The predominant line was around the top so whenever we'd close up on the next guy it was difficult to make a move because once you got out of the best lane you'd spin your tires. Both Carson Macedo and I passed Terry McCarl with about 10 laps to go and I thought I might have a shot at Carson in traffic. I found some rubber in turns three and four off the cushion a bit and then Terry found some all the way on the bottom and drove by the both of us."

Brown finished third, which was his record ninth career top-five result during the event.

The team returned to the track on Sunday for the Capitani Classic, which welcomed more than 65 other competitors. Brown timed in fourth quickest in his group and picked up a position in a heat race to finish second. A fifth-place result in the King of the Hill lined him up on the inside of the third row for the A Main.

"The Capitani Classic is a great event honoring a great man," he said. "It's also a nice final tune-up for the Knoxville Nationals. A lot of the teams that will race the Nationals show up for the Capitani Classic so it's a fun and challenging event.

"We had a fast race car in the main event, but track position was pretty pivotal. We're there to race for the win, but we moved forward and earned a podium finish so it was a solid night."

Brown, who garnered a third-place run during the Capitani Classic, also competed on Monday at Southern Iowa Speedway during the Sage Fruit Front Row Challenge presented by Musco Lighting. He timed in 16th quickest during qualifying, won a heat race from the third starting position and battled toward the top 10 in the A Main before exiting the track early. He was credited with a 20th-place finish.

Brian Brown Moves Into Sixth in All-Time Wins at Knoxville Raceway

Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 22, 2018) - Brian Brown came out on top of an action-packed night on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway, where he recorded his eighth triumph of the season.

Brown set quick time during qualifying before he maneuvered from sixth to third place in a heat race.

"We went out and had quick time, which that was good," he said. "That will hopefully pay dividends the next couple of weeks (during the Knoxville Nationals) because qualifying is so crucial. In the heat race we tried some things with the car and I tried to change my line to make some laps on the bottom. It's all about practice. You have to hit all spots of the track when you need to do it."

Brown lined up on the inside of the second row for the 20-lap main event.

"In the feature we felt like we were going to have a good shot," he said. "With Austin (McCarl) and Terry (McCarl) on the front row and me and Kerry (Madsen) on the second row it was tough. We got a good start and to the lead on the first lap. I got into the cushion in turn two and almost crashed a few laps in. It knocked my radiator scoop back and the radiator into the oil pump. It changed the handling quite a bit. We got settled back down and then I ran over the back of a car lapping him. Austin got by. Then we had a whale of a battle going back and forth between our two Casey's cars, which is awesome. I was able to keep him in striking distance and we slid each other three or four times."

The duo officially swapped the lead five times with Brown making the race-winning move in turn four following a restart with four laps remaining.

"I got a good restart and was able to get by him," he said. "We made it around to the back stretch when they had another red. We ran three good laps after that to get the win."

The victory was Brown's seventh of the season and 44th career in the 410ci winged sprint car division at Knoxville Raceway, giving him sole possession of sixth in career triumphs. The positive moment was even more impactful because of what the team has been enduring.

"I met Chad Morgan 10 years ago and he's become one of my best friends and a crew chief," Brown said. "I consider him a brother. His family is my family. He lost his brother on Friday and our thoughts and prayers are with his whole family. We went out there and did the best we could to try to get a win for his brother, CW. It shows you Chad's dedication to me and our race team by being there after his loss on Friday."

Brown will join the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions for races this Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn.; Saturday at Knoxville Raceway; and Sunday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa.

Brian Brown Records Podium Finish During AGCO Jackson Nationals Finale

Inside Line Promotions - JACKSON, Minn. (June 11, 2018) - Brian Brown capped the 40th annual AGCO Jackson Nationals with a podium finish on Saturday evening at Jackson Motorplex.

"First and foremost, it's good to see the Jackson Nationals relevant as one of the premier events across the country," he said. "The facility to the crowd to the atmosphere, I feel like it's back."

The marquee World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series event got off to a rocky start as Mother Nature wreaked havoc last Thursday during the first preliminary night, which was postponed to Saturday afternoon.

Brown returned to the 4/10-mile oval on Friday and he put together a solid performance, qualifying fifth quickest in his group, placing third in a heat race and maneuvering from 10th to fifth place in the A Main.

"We were really, really good on the double-file restarts," he said. "We were able to get going and make some hay. Those things either make you or break you. Our Charlie Garrett engines take off really well. When you can get going quickly it definitely helps."

Brown closed preliminary competition on Saturday afternoon with another efficient outing. He timed in sixth quickest in his group, ended fourth in a heat race and advanced from 15th to 10th in the main event.

"I thought they did a great job putting on a day show in 80 degree weather," he said. "It was one of the better day shows I've been a part of.

"We got into second in the heat race before we lost a couple of positions on a restart. I looked at it as that was a missed opportunity that cost us a chance at winning the Jackson Nationals. I let the team down by not getting in the dash on Saturday afternoon. I thought we needed to be sixth or seventh in the A Main, but the way the points fell it went in our favor."

Brown ranked fourth in overall points out of more than 40 competitors. That locked him into Saturday's dash.

"I felt like we might have a car that could contend for the win," he said. "When you get in the first couple of rows you can massage your cars to get max speed. I felt like once we got ourselves in the dash and I went fourth to second I had a good opportunity to win the Jackson Nationals."

Brown lined up on the outside of the front row for the 40-lap, $40,000-to-win main event.

"We were a little one way to start the feature," he said. "We had an open red and over-adjusted the other way."

Brown spent the first few laps chasing leader Jason Johnson before he dropped a spot to eventual race winner Donny Schatz. Brown then had a great battle with David Gravel for third place throughout most of the race before coming out on top.

"We had a third-place car and that's where we finished," he said. "Those guys put a little harder tire on than I did. I felt like I was running as good as Jason and as good as Donny, but when my car started chattering around and vibrating tires I knew in order for us to finish I needed to conserve. To finish on the podium with the Outlaws at a premier event is nothing to hang your head at."

Last week's action began on Tuesday at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Ill., for the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown. Brown qualified fifth quickest overall to start the night. He was running second midway through a heat race when he got into the wall, resulting in a DNF. That relegated him to the Last Chance Showdown and a seventh-place result missed a transfer by only one spot.

"We started strong and were running good in the heat race," he said. "The Outlaws push you to the limit. Sometimes as drivers you cross that line. I crossed the line and got in the fence trying to be faster. It took us out of contention for the rest of the night."

Brown is slated to compete next this Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, where he has won during each of his five visits this season.

Brown Posts Fifth Consecutive Week With a Win at Knoxville Raceway

Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 4, 2018) - Brian Brown continued his recent dominance at Knoxville Raceway last Saturday when he captured a win at the half-mile oval for the fifth consecutive week.

"Everything went as planned," he said. "Me and Chad talked during the week about if we got into a situation where the track was slowing down we wanted to try a few things we haven't tried in a few years. We wanted to experiment to see if we could get better."

Brown qualified third quickest before the team elected to tweak the setup in an effort to learn. The changes were positive as Brown powered from sixth to win a heat race and become the high-points driver heading into the main event, which was inverted by four.

"We were a little nervous," he said. "There's a lot of good cars at Knoxville. The first three rows are the best of the best. We were starting fourth and I knew we had to make good, quality laps and get going quick. We were able to get to third pretty quick. I was able to get by Kerry (Madsen) and chase Lynton (Jeffrey) down. Then I ran as hard as I could like you're running from the cops trying to get out of town.

"There was a red and a couple of cautions late. You never know. It gives those guys time to reflect on what they're doing and gives them another shot at you. We had a caution on the white flag lap. Those you never want to see because you can spin the tires and not get going or give someone a run at you on the restart. Luckily our car was good enough to get the win."

Brown took the lead on Lap 6 and led the remainder of the race to post his fourth victory of the season in the 410 division.

"We made some gains on a few things," he said. "We have a couple of plays in the playbook if the track is one way or another. It was also Casey's General Stores seventh win in a row at Knoxville. It's great to have companies like Casey's and FVP that believe in us.

"Hats off to the Dunkin family. The track has been awesome all five weeks I've been there. There's two or three grooves. You can pass in the heats and the features. Those are Knoxville Nationals type tracks where it's slick to the curb with a bottom. It's good laps for us at Knoxville."

Brown is scheduled to make his debut at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Ill., on Tuesday during the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown before tackling the 40th annual AGCO Jackson Nationals Thursday through Saturday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series.

"Now that Tod (Quiring) has taken over and turned it into a premier facility it's turned it into a crown jewel event," Brown said of the Jackson Nationals. "It should be an awesome week. With the different track configuration it should lend itself to great racing."

Brown finished second at Jackson Motorplex last month during his lone start this season at the recently renovated oval.

Brian Brown Scores 360 Victory and Rallies for Runner-Up Result in 410 Class at Knoxville

Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (May 29, 2018) - Brian Brown always enjoys racing at his home away from home.

Brown scored a victory at Knoxville Raceway for the fourth straight week last Saturday when competed in both the 410ci and 360ci winged sprint car classes at 'The Sprint Car Capital of the World.'

"We ran our 360 car a couple of times this year and felt we weren't as good as we needed to be," he said. "In order to make sure everything was right with the car we needed to go to Knoxville because that's where I can give the best feedback. It probably wasn't the smartest night to do it because of the heat. It was right at 100 degrees. I lost eight pounds that day. It's tough to keep two cars going, but it worked out ok."

Brown entered the night with a three-race winning streak in the 410 division. He qualified second quickest around the half-mile oval before charging from sixth to win a heat race. Unfortunately, the highest inversion - eight - was drawn, which started Brown on the inside of the fourth row in the main event.

"We knew it was going to be tough because where we were starting with Kerry Madsen, Ian Madsen, Austin McCarl, Brooke Tatnell and Davey Heskin in front of us," he said. "We were able to get into fourth and then get by Brooke and then by Davey. When I got into second I couldn't hardly see Austin. I think he was up by five seconds. At that point I didn't think I had a chance to catch him, but he got held up by lapped cars and we put ourselves in a position to win the race."

Brown attempted to slide McCarl, but pulled out of the move midway through to avoid contact.

"I got a little overanxious when I tried to slide him," he said. "I wasn't close enough to slide him, but I couldn't get to where I needed to be to make the best run. There was no reason to crash us both. I had to get out of the gas and let him go. That killed my momentum. On the last lap he got held up in traffic, but the lapped car stuck the bottom like I was hoping I could do. Hats off to Austin. He did what he needed to do. It was a good night for Casey's General Stores. They've won all six races at Knoxville this year."

Brown's runner-up result was only eclipsed by his performance in the 360 class. The results were nearly similar as he qualified second quickest and powered from sixth to win a heat race. The feature inversion started him on the outside of the fourth row for the A Main.

"Our engines with Charlie Garrett are the best," Brown said. "To go in there and get second quick (in qualifying) and win our heat from sixth was great. You never know with the 360 deal. They're a great group of competitors.

"We took off on the start of the main event and got balled up. I think I was running 10th or 12th off turn two. I was able to pick them off one by one. When we got to traffic I was able to make good decisions. It was a fun race."

Brown rebounded from a close call on the opening lap. He climbed into second place by Lap 8 and took the lead on Lap 13.

"It was a good tune up for us for August," he said. "That'll probably be the only time we'll run our 360 at Knoxville besides the 360 Knoxville Nationals. Hats off to Chad, Michael, my dad and Jordan for working hard.

"On a side note, I've been having a problem staying hydrated. My friend, Allen Wright, who works with the Kansas City Chiefs, hooked me up with Evan, who is a trainer. He gave me some great ideas that helped so thanks to them as well."

The victory was Brown's 16th career at Knoxville Raceway in the division.

Brown will return to action on Wednesday at Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Ill., during the FVP Platinum Battery Showdown with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series before returning to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.

"It will be my first time racing in Fairbury," he said. "We're looking forward to hosting a lot of FVP customers and employees who don't get to see us very often."

Brown Captures Third Straight Win at Knoxville Following Runner-Up Result at Jackson

Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (May 21, 2018) - Brian Brown is riding a wave of momentum as he produced his third straight triumph at Knoxville Raceway last Saturday to extend a streak of top-two finishes to five straight races.

"As a car owner what's exciting for me is the guys' attitudes are no different today than when we were fast earlier in the year and were having bad luck," he said. "Chad and Michael are the best. Our cars have been fast all year long and now we've had a little luck to go with it. You have to ride the wave because it can change real quick."

The weekend began on Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., which hosted the Great Lakes Shootout presented by Tweeter Contracting and Harvey's Five Star Roofing as its season-opening event.

Brown qualified seventh quickest before he advanced from fourth to second place during a heat race on the recently reconfigured 4/10-mile track. That lined him up on the inside of the second row for the A Main.

"I thought it produced great action," Brown said of the track. "We're really looking forward to the Jackson Nationals coming up. We didn't qualify as well as we wanted (on Friday), but we were good in the heat.

"The race didn't play out in traffic like we wanted in the main event. We threw a haymaker at Cory Eliason for the lead, but it didn't stick and he was able to get back by."

Brown slid Eliason for the top spot with only a handful of laps remaining, but Eliason was able to regain the top spot and narrowly hold off Brown for the win.

Momentum from his runner-up result and back-to-back wins at Knoxville Raceway the two previous weekends guided Brown into Saturday's event at the half-mile oval. He set quick time during qualifying to open the action.

"Our engines are really, really good," he said. "Charlie Garrett is the best in the business. That allows us to go out and set quick time, which puts us in a good position. We had a good heat race and were the high points driver. We got lucky with the feature inversion being a zero, but we did our job to get us in that spot. Just because you get that zero doesn't mean you get paid then."

Brown started on the pole for the 20-lap main event and he took advantage, leading the entire race before claiming his 40th career 410ci winged sprint car main event at 'The Sprint Car Capital of the World.'

"You know you have to put 20 solid laps together with a guy like Kerry Madsen starting beside you," he said. "We ran as hard as we could for 20 laps and got through traffic well. It's pretty awesome to win three in a row and to win 40 races overall.

"To win these races it takes a lot of great partners like Casey's General Stores and FVP. We have a lot of great support from a lot of great companies and components. The last three weeks at Knoxville it's been really, really fast. When you go that hard it's hard on stuff. Every component we choose we do so because we feel it's the best."

Brown is scheduled to return to Knoxville Raceway this Saturday. He is aiming for his fourth straight win, which would tie him for the fourth-best winning streak at the track.

Brian Brown Produces Second Straight Victory at Knoxville to Highlight Weekend

Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (May 13, 2018) - Brian Brown posted his second straight feature triumph at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday when he capped a productive weekend by visiting Victory Lane.

"We've always had a lot of confidence that we had fast race cars, but we were missing the luck," he said. "Now it seems like we're getting a little luck and more momentum. Any time you can combine those you can overcome anything."

Brown started Saturday's show at the half-mile oval by setting quick time during qualifying at a blistering speed. He then advanced from sixth to fourth place in a heat race. That made him the high-points driver entering the 20-lap feature, which had a zero drawn for the inversion.

"We started off the night with the ninth fastest lap in Knoxville history," he said. "That was the fastest I've ever been there. Charlie Garrett Engines love when the air gets like that. Then we got lucky and got a good draw for the A Main. I was able to set sail from the start."

After a lengthy delay following an opening-lap crash, Brown led the distance of the race to pick up his 39th career 410ci winged sprint car win at the track.

"There was a pretty gruesome wreck on the first lap," he said. "You race against these guys and go toe to toe, but you never want to see anyone get hurt. It was good to hear everyone is going to be ok.

"It was a great win for our team and all of our partners. I appreciate Chad, Michael, my dad and everybody who works on the thing. Also, hats off to the Dunkin's and everyone at the track. They could have thrown in the towel and said the weather wasn't good enough, but they wanted to race and hopefully we put on a good show for the fans."

The weekend began last Thursday at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., where Brown advanced from fourth to third place during his Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com heat race.

"In that ASCS format it's crucial to be on point in the heats to put yourself in position," he said. "We weren't that great in the heat. We don't run the 360 very often and we just missed it, but fortunately it was still good enough to put us starting 11th in the A Main.

"We took a big swing at it and made it a lot better for the feature. That gave us the forward drive and side bite we needed to go from 11 th to second. In the middle of the race we were pretty good. I passed Seth (Bergman) at least one or two times, but I couldn't solidify the spot. It could have played out where we won the race, but he did a good job to get back by and go on to win. Any time you can go 11th to second with those guys it's a good night."

Brown's rally to a runner-up result also garnered the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

He is scheduled to compete this Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., during the Great Lakes Shootout presented by Tweeter Contracting and Harvey's Five Star Roofing, which was postponed from last weekend because of bad weather, before competing at Knoxville Raceway on Saturday.

Brian Brown Earns First Win of Season at Knoxville Raceway After Hitting Reset Button

Inside Line Promotions - KNOXVILLE, Iowa (May 6, 2018) - Brian Brown captured his first feature victory of the season on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway, where his team hit the reset button.

"It's May so you really want to have won by now," he said. "We've had good car speed all year long, but we don't have the results to show how fast we've been. On Saturday my crew chief, Chad Morgan, said, 'Let's hit the reset button and act like this is Race 1.' We went into Knoxville with the mindset this was the first race of the year. It was exactly what the doctor ordered."

Brown was fast throughout his season debut at the half-mile oval, where he ranks seventh in career 410ci and 360ci winged sprint car wins. He qualified second quickest before powering from sixth to second place in a heat race. That made him the high-points driver and lined him up on the outside of the second row for the 20-lap A Main following a four-car inversion.

"Traveling as much as we have this year against the level of competition we've raced you can get beat down confidence-wise and you can get thinking outside the box," he said. "We've been racing at Knoxville so long we know what works. It takes the thinking of the car piece out of it. We just have to do what we have every single year. Our engines are so strong with Charlie Garrett Engines it takes care of itself.

"With Justin Henderson on the pole, Terry McCarl starting second and Davey Heskin third we knew we had our work cut out for us to win. We got a good start and drove right into second. We knew we had to be aggressive when we got to traffic. We were able to sneak by and lead the rest of the way."

Brown took the lead on Lap 8 en route to his 38th career 410 feature win at Knoxville Raceway. The victory also gives Brown at least one triumph each season since 2000 when he made his sprint car debut.

"It's good to get Casey's General Stores, FVP and all of our partners to Victory Lane," he said. "They stick with us whether we're 18thwith the Outlaws or winning races."

Last weekend began on Friday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., where Brown qualified 19th quickest after being the last driver out. He was unable to finish a heat race because of a mechanical problem, but rebounded to win the Last Chance Showdown to earn a spot in the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series A Main.

"We drew the last pill and the track slowed down quite a bit for qualifying," he said. "Then we hurt an engine in a heat race. We got that changed before winning the LCS. We were stuck in the back of the main and I got myself spun around on one of the yellows, which was my fault. It wasn't the result we were hoping for, but if you qualify bad it's tough to get caught back up throughout the night. Especially when you have to change an engine midway through the night."

Brown didn't finish the main event and he was credited with an 18 th-place result.

The team has a trio of races on tap this weekend beginning on Thursday at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan., with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com. Brown will tackle the Great Lakes Shootout presented by Tweeter Contracting and Harvey's Five Star Roofing on Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., before wrapping up the weekend on Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.

QUICK RESULTS -
May 4 - Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo. - Qualifying: 19; Heat race: DNF (7); B Main: 1 (3); Feature: 18 (19).
May 5 - Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa - Qualifying: 2; Heat race: 2 (6); Feature: 1 (4).

Brian Brown Learns Throughout Spring Classic at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55

Inside Line Promotions - PEVELY, Mo. (April 23, 2018) - Last Saturday was a learning night for Brian Brown and his team during the Spring Classic at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55.

"It was not a great night, but if you're looking at the grand scheme of things on nights like that you can learn more than on nights when you're staying inside your box," he said. "I have a feeling we have those gremlins figured out. Any time you struggle in a heat race, then can run the B Main and see improvement, and then run the A Main and see further improvement shows great progress."

Brown kicked off the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series race by participating in a pre-race meet-and-greet event with FVP customers and employees. The on-track action began with Brown qualifying eighth quickest in his group.

"We unloaded and were sixth or seventh quick in hot laps," he said. "In qualifying I didn't make as good of laps as I'd have liked and we ended up eighth. We weren't in a horrible spot, but we just missed it in the heat race. We didn't get the car right and were a little free."

Brown finished sixth in a heat race to miss locking into the main event by one position. That relegated him to the Last Chance Showdown, in which he finished fourth to earn a transfer into the 24thstarting position in the main event.

"I think we made progress all night," he said. "The track took rubber fairly early in the A Main so there wasn't a lot of passing after that. On a positive note, we improved from the heat race to the B Main to the A Main."

Brown rallied from 24th to a 17th-place finish, which equaled the third-most cars passed in the main event.

He is scheduled to make his debut at Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio, this Friday and Saturday for the Sprint Car World Championship, which pays $100,000 to win.

"I'm looking forward to getting to Mansfield," he said. "It's exciting someone has put up $100,000 to win. There will be 70 cars there that can win so the competition will be tough."
